Because, North Korean dictator Kim Jong has ordered his soldiers while fighting the war with Ukraine that even if they die in the war, they should not be captured. In such a situation, the captured soldiers fear that if they return to their country, the treatment that Kim Jong will give them would probably be worse than death.

When captured North Korean soldiers were asked whether they wanted to go back home after 300 of their comrades were killed in the war? To this a soldier nods his head and answers ‘yes’. But, the second soldier said that he wanted to stay in Ukraine. Therefore he should not be sent back. Explaining the reason for this, the injured North Korean soldier lying on the bed said, “Ukraine is a good country to live in. The people here are good. I want to stay here.” But later he adds that he will do only what he is ordered to do.

‘Didn’t know we were fighting a war’

Why does North Korea help Russia?
The answer is related to the existence of North Korea. After the Second World War, the Korean War, which lasted from 1950 to 1953, had a wide impact on the world. Korea was divided into two parts. North Korea had support from Russia. America stood with South Korea. In 1949, the situation became such that the Soviet Union and America withdrew their troops from Korea. After this North Korea attacked South Korea. But with the help of America and Britain, South Korea retaliated against North Korea. Since then the Korean War has not officially ended. Clashes keep happening on the 248 kilometer long border between North and South Korea. Russia has been using North Korea for its benefit.
