IND vs AUS: The 5th Test between India and Australia has started in Sydney. However, like the last 3 test matches, Virat Kohli once again failed in this match. There were a lot of expectations from him after his narrow escape on the first ball but he was out after scoring 17 runs. On the first day of the Sydney Test, Virat Kohli got a big life on the very first ball. Scott narrowly escaped getting out on his very first ball against Boland.

Virat Kohli came to the crease and while facing the first ball, made a huge mistake of hitting the good length ball near the off stump. Kohli tried to defend, but the ball took the thick outer edge of the bat and went to Steve Smith standing at second slip. During this, Smith fell down and caught the ball with his right hand and then quickly took the ball to third slip to make a relay catch. For a moment it seemed that Kohli had become the victim of a golden duck but the third umpire declared him not out after seeing the replays. The replay clearly showed that the ball had touched the ground while Smith was taking the catch.

Kept the wicket till lunch

After getting life on the very first ball, Virat Kohli started playing cautiously and considered it better to leave the balls going outside. After this, Virat along with Shubman Gill handled the innings. There was a good partnership of 40 runs between the two, but just before lunch, while trying to play Nathan Lyon’s ball forward, Shubman Gill got caught at first slip. Till lunch break, India lost three wickets for 57 runs in 25 overs.

Virat Kohli showed patience

In the second session, Virat Kohli got the support of Rishabh Pant and both of them gradually started taking the innings forward. There was a partnership of 15 runs between the two when Kohli again repeated the same mistake, the consequences of which he has been suffering again and again in this series. Kohli tried to touch Scott Boland’s outgoing ball. Boland bowled the third ball of the 32nd over on the fourth stump of back of good length. Kohli tried to defend it but the ball took the thick outer edge of the bat and went into the hands of Beau Webster standing in the slips. In this way Kohli’s innings ended. He faced 69 balls and scored only 17 runs. The interesting thing is that Kohli could not hit a single boundary in his innings of 69 balls. With this, a unique record was registered in Kohli’s name.

This happened for the first time

In fact, the 69 balls played by Kohli is the longest innings of his Test career in which he has batted without a boundary. This had never been seen before in his Test career. Kohli has played 123 Test matches so far but he has never looked as slow as he did in today’s match.
