On January 11, 2023, Constantine, the former and last king of Greece, died in Hygia, a private hospital in Athens. Constantine was 82 years old. In 1964, at the age of 23, he assumed the throne as Constantine II. He was already very popular because of winning the Olympic gold medal in sailing and his fame increased after becoming king. However, after a military coup in 1967, Constantine took on the military rulers and faced exile.
