Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday gave such a statement regarding Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), due to which he has come into controversy. On the occasion of the inauguration of the new headquarters of Congress, Rahul Gandhi attacked BJP and RSS and said that his fight is not only with these two, but with the Indian State (Government of India). Rahul Gandhi even called RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat a treason. BJP immediately cashed in on this statement. The party said that Rahul Gandhi has openly started a war against the country. As the controversy escalated, many Congress leaders including Udit Raj gave clarification and defended Rahul Gandhi. But, the damage that was to be done has already been done.

Rahul Gandhi called Bhagwat a traitor
In his statement, Rahul Gandhi mentioned a statement of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. He said that according to Bhagwat ji, the fight for freedom against the British had no importance.
