Use of foxhole technique for explosion
According to sources, the explosion was so powerful that a part of the Scorpio’s bonnet hung on a nearby tree. Sources said that the incident site revealed that the Maoists had used foxhole technique for the blast. In this technique, Maoists first dig big potholes on the roads. Then these pits are filled with stones. These potholes cannot be detected during anti-mine operations. When Maoists are about to carry out a blast, they fill these pits with explosives i.e. IEDs and cover them with leaves on top. When vehicles of security forces pass over these pits, they get hit by the explosion.
