But statistics show that the youth and children of the Tamil Nadu government are suffering. Tamil Nadu has refused to implement many central government schemes. He has not fully implemented the skilled Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Center in the field of primary education. Because of this, the children of Tamil Nadu are left behind. Like the skillful India, Tamil Nadu has not opened Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya here. Because of this, thousands of children from the rural areas there were left behind by getting a lot of education.
Central Government vs Tamil Nadu government
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also exposed the lies of DMK running the government in Tamil Nadu. According to him, the DMK first accuses the central government of stopping funds, but it refuses to give his consent to the PMSri Vidyalaya with him. Pradhan alleges that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin rejected Rs 10,000 crore only to oppose Hindi. He says that the DMK agenda is not Tamil pride but to save its existence in the 2026 elections.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says that in view of the election to be held next year, the DMK government of Tamil Nadu is not implementing the central government schemes.
On the one hand, while the DMK leaders themselves are getting higher education, on the other hand they are stopping the reforms that will help the youth of Tamil Nadu to move forward. NGO prepared by first Annual status of education report (Effect) is considered to be the biggest survey of the field of education in India. The first is a non -governmental institution. Children from five to 16 years are included in this survey. In this, children are filled from house to house and filling the survey forms. These children include children studying in school and children who have left school. This shows the level of learning in the children of the country. The Asar report shows that the insistence of the DMK government is affecting the education there.
What does ASER report about Tamil Nadu
According to the 2024 effect report, there was a major decline in the literacy and mathematical knowledge of the children of Tamil Nadu government schools. Despite the slight improvement compared to the year 2022, the educational crisis of the state is revealed. As a result of this, Tamil Nadu has lagged behind in many matters from Uttar Pradesh, who has implemented the skilled India and National Education Policy 2020.
Earning reports show that in the year 2018, 75 percent of the students studying in class three in Tamil Nadu government schools could read classes of class two. Whereas in 2022, this number came down to 62.8 percent and 62.2 percent in 2024. On the other hand, if we talk about BJP -ruled Uttar Pradesh, then in 2018, 62 percent of children of class three could read classes of class two. At the same time, in 2022, the number of such children increased to 62.6 percent, and in 2024 it increased to 67.3 percent. That is, there is a difference of 5.1 percent in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
How Tamil Nadu fell behind Uttar Pradesh
According to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to achieve the universal goal of literacy and number of knowledge skills, the Educational Bharat Abhiyan has been launched. Its goal is to read and write children up to class three and give basic knowledge of mathematics. Tamil Nadu has partially implemented this campaign. At the same time, the government of Uttar Pradesh is running mission inspiration along with skilled India. In 2018, only 12.3 percent of the students of class three could read classes of class two. This was the situation when the DMK government of Tamil Nadu has provided tablets to children to study. On the other hand, if you talk about spending budget on digital education, then Tamil Nadu is far behind in this matter. In this case, Kerala is at the forefront, which spent 12.5 percent of the budget on digital education. At the same time, Karnataka spent 10 percent and Gujarat spent nine percent budget in this item. But Tamil Nadu spends only five percent of the budget on digital education.
Impact of not opening Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
The Rajiv Gandhi government had opened Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya across the country to provide high level education to children in rural areas. At present, 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are working in the country. These schools are completely residential. But Tamil Nadu is the only state in the country that does not allow Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to open here. He alleges that Hindi will be imposed on the state through this. As a result, about 50 thousand children in rural areas of Tamil Nadu have been deprived of quality secondary and higher secondary education.
Legal efforts were also made to open Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Tamil Nadu. In 2017, the Madrah High Court ordered that the Tamil Nadu government should issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. But instead of obeying the order of the court, the DMK government of Tamil Nadu challenged this decision in the Supreme Court.
