Attacking BJP ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the party is not announcing its chief ministerial candidate because it is afraid of losing. The AAP leader also claimed that BJP has finalized the name of its former South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri as its chief ministerial candidate. Let us tell you that Bidhuri was not given ticket for the Lok Sabha elections. In the assembly elections, he has got the ticket from Kalkaji, from where Chief Minister Atishi is contesting on AAP ticket.
Amit Shah accused Kejriwal of lying
Responding to this, Home Minister Amit Shah accused Arvind Kejriwal of spreading lies. He asked, “Can Kejriwal decide the chief ministerial face of BJP? Who is he to make such claims.” On Saturday, during a press conference, Kejriwal had said, “AAP has made it clear from the beginning that I am a contender for the post of Chief Minister. BJP held a CEC meeting on Friday and now it is coming out from the sources that it is Ramesh Bidhuri. Can be made a contender for the post of Chief Minister. Sources have said that the name will be announced in a day or so. I wish Ramesh Bidhuri all the best and want to know what he has done in the last 10 years. What work has he done as MP and what is his vision for the people of Delhi?
Kejriwal challenges BJP for public debate
Along with this, the former Chief Minister also challenged BJP for a public debate. He said, “This will make the view of the concerned people and parties clear to the people of Delhi and India. We will wait, maybe the name of Ramesh Bidhuri will be announced in a day or two.”
Ramesh Bidhuri came into limelight in 2023
Let us tell you that Ramesh Bidhuri came into limelight in September 2023, when he used the word Islamophobic against Amroha MP Danish Ali, which created a big controversy. After her candidature for the Delhi Assembly elections was announced earlier this month, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s comments on her cheeks and changing Atishi’s surname had sparked controversy. Due to these statements, he had to face criticism from BJP and he also apologized.
Amit Shah also targeted Kejriwal
Taking aim at Kejriwal, Home Minister Amit Shah said that he is trying to take political advantage by making such claims. Addressing the Jhuggi Basti Pradhan Sammelan, Shah said, “Can Kejriwal decide the chief ministerial face of BJP? Who is he to make such claims?” He said that Arvind Kejriwal does “lies, betrayal and reneging on promises”.
RP Singh reminded Kejriwal of court orders
BJP leader RP Singh reminded Kejriwal what condition the court had set while granting him bail in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. He said, “Kejriwal keeps saying again and again that he is the face of the Chief Minister. But while granting him bail, the court had said that he cannot become the Chief Minister. According to the court order, you cannot sign on any file as the Chief Minister. Nor can you go to the Chief Minister’s office. Also, as the Chief Minister, this order is still in effect and you have not got any exemption in it.
RP Singh also targeted Kejriwal
He said, “And which face are you talking about? The face that gave free liquor on buying a bottle, the face that allowed liquor shops to open outside schools and religious places, or the face that (the chief minister’s bungalow) “Gold commodes were installed. Our workers are going to every house with this symbol and promising a clean and honest government.” Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said that the elected MLAs of BJP will decide the leader of the party.
