New Delhi:

Delhi Police on Tuesday made major revelations in the case of fake bomb threats in Delhi schools. Recently, about 400 schools in Delhi were given bomb threats through email and phone. During the intensive search, nothing suspicious was found in any school. But, such fake bomb threats were affecting studies. Exams had to be canceled several times due to bomb threats in schools. Now Delhi Police in its investigation found that 400 such emails were sent from the laptop of a class 12 student. In their investigation, the police found that the father of this student is associated with some NGO. This NGO had once opposed the hanging of terrorist Afzal Guru. This NGO is also associated with a political party. Police have also talked about the use of dark web and VPN in this case.

Delhi Police’s Special CP (Law and Order) Madhur Tiwari has made many important revelations in a press conference on Monday in the case of bomb threat in Delhi schools. According to the Special CP of Delhi Police, schools in Delhi were continuously receiving bomb threats through emails. Such mails were coming continuously since 14 February 2024. Due to these threats, many times exams and tests had to be canceled in schools. Therefore, we started an in-depth investigation of this matter. However, due to VPN no big leads were being received. Our officers were continuously trying.

Big lead received from last mail sent on 8 January 2025
Special CP Madhur Tiwari said, “The last call about bomb threat in schools came on January 8, 2025. From this mail, we identified the student from whose laptop all the mails were sent. We investigated the angle of anti-national and terrorist groups. Started investigation because these emails were being sent using very advanced technology.”

400 emails were sent from the student’s laptop
The police officer said, “Forensic examination of the laptop of the suspected student was done. It was revealed that more than 400 emails were sent from the student’s laptop. We became suspicious that how can a child do this? So we started further investigation. During this time we came to know about an NGO.

Suspected student’s father is associated with NGO
According to the police, the father of the suspected student is associated with this NGO. Political connections of this NGO also came to light in the investigation. That means this NGO works for a political party. This NGO had once opposed the hanging of terrorist Afzal Guru. Police are investigating the role of this NGO in the case of bomb threats received against schools. Its connection with the political party is also being investigated.

Special CP Madhur Tiwari said, “This is our initial investigation in the case of fake bomb threat received by Delhi schools. Further investigation is still pending… such mails were being sent from the laptop of the suspected student since the beginning. Dark web and VPN were also being used in this.”

Class 12 student was detained on Friday
The police have detained the suspected student on Friday. He told during interrogation that he did not want to give the exam, so he sent an email. To avoid any doubt from the schools, he had tagged 23 schools of Delhi along with his school in the email.
