There is also a story behind burying Aurangzeb in Khuldabad. In fact, according to Aurangzeb’s will, he wished that after death he should be buried in Khuldabad, where his guru Sufi saint Syed Zainuddin is buried. He used to consider this saint as his pir. Aurangzeb was fond of reading. He wanted to read like Zainuddin. He wrote in the will that his tomb should be ordinary. The tomb should be covered with vegetables (Tulsi) plant. There should not be a roof of the mausoleum. Lord Curzon visited Khuldabad in 1904-05. After seeing the simple tomb of Aurangzeb, he got marble grills around the tomb.

Why does Aurangzeb dispute in Maharashtra
Aurangzeb’s reign in Maharashtra is remembered for the battles between his forces and the Marathas. The Marathas stopped the victory chariot of the Mughals. It is seen as Maratha Gaurav and Aurangzeb as a heretical. In 1689, the Mughal army arrested Chhatrapati Shivaji’s son Sambhaji Maharaj. The Mughals had tortured them a lot before hanging them. This incident made Aurangzeb a staunch enemy of Marathas. The film ‘Chhava’, which came this year, has defeated this wound more.
From Jyotiba Phule to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who holds an important place in the history of Maharashtra, criticized Aurangzeb and described it as a cruel ruler. Savarkar used to call Aurangzeb as a human monster. This is the reason that Hinduist organizations who do politics of Hindus after independence have also been campaigning against Aurangzeb. Shiv Sena has been the champion of this politics. The decision taken by Uddhav Thackeray, who was running the government with Congress and NCP in his last cabinet meeting, included the decision to change the name of Aurangabad to Sambhaji Nagar.
Shiv Sena and Aurangzeb
Uddhav Thackeray’s father Bal Thackeray compared Muslims to Aurangzeb. The result was that Shiv Sena had won in Aurangabad Municipal Corporation. After this victory, Bal Thackeray wrote, “Aurangzeb’s ghost has been harassing this country for 300 years. History has repeated itself after 300 years and the men have buried Aurangzeb in the same land of Aurangabad. ”Shiv Sena was demanding to name Aurangabad after Sambhaji. The name Aurangabad is also named after Aurangzeb. The Shiv Sena -led Municipal Corporation had passed a proposal to change the name of Aurangabad. But due to legal hurdles, this could not happen. Eknath Shinde, who became the Chief Minister with the help of BJP, overturned Uddhav Thackeray’s decision. He changed the name of Sambhaji Nagar to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
