In the Bihar Legislative Council, the Shabdaban ran fiercely between Rabri Devi of RJD and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. During the discussion on the women, Nitish pointed to Rabri Devi, saying, “When her husband drowned, he made his wife the Chief Minister.” On this statement of the Chief Minister, the members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal created a ruckus. He described Nitish’s statement as an insult to women. Rabri Devi said on Wednesday that Nitish Kumar comes to the House after drinking cannabis and insults women. He said that my insult is an insult to women. He said that this work is being done by Nitish Kumar. He took the name of some leaders of Janata Dal United. This is not the first time that Nitish Kumar and Rabri Devi are face to face. Even before this, the two leaders have fought the war on some occasions and on many occasions Rabri has also been seen defending Nitish.
Rabri Devi first became the Chief Minister in 1997 when the CBI filed a charge sheet in the fodder scam against her husband and RJD president Lalu Prasad. After this Lalu Yadav had to resign. After this, Rabri Devi became the Chief Minister.
Lalu Nitish’s journey of friendship
Lalu and Nitish have friendship of the 1070s. Both lived in the same party. But after the Janata Dal was disintegrated, Nitish formed his own path by forming Samata Party and Lalu formed the Rashtriya Janata Dal in 1997. But even today, the politics of Bihar revolves around these two leaders. It is said that the relationship between Nitish and Lalu is like oil and water, who live together but do not meet. There was some such coincidence that these two leaders came together in 2015. That year Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal and Nitish Kumar’s JDU together contested and won the assembly elections. Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister. But in 2017, Nitish left Lalu’s support once again and went with BJP. The two came together again in 2022 but in January 2024, they once again separated their paths.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has also targeted him on Nitish’s statement. Tejashwi Yadav said, “This reflects the pathetic mental state of the Chief Minister, which is not clearly suitable for running the kingdom.” He reminded him that Rabri Devi is older than him. She has been the Chief Minister of undivided Bihar. He even said that in the context of the relationship, he (Rabri Devi) is senior to him. Here Tejashwi’s gesture was often towards calling Kumar Prasad ‘elder brother’ by Kumar. In the world outside politics, Nitish and Rabri, who had a relationship between brother-in-law and Rabri, were seen to be a staunch political enemies for some time.
Nitish’s attack on Lalu
Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi are senior leaders of Bihar. Both have been the Chief Minister. Both have had a political feud with Nitish Kumar. It sometimes also comes on the tongue. But this is never visible on the private relationship. Both have been honoring each other and have been playing relationships. But for the last few days, the statements from both sides are telling the talkeys in the relationship. Prior to the remarks made on Rabri Devi, Nitish Kumar targeted Lalu Yadav. During the debate in the assembly, on March 4, Nitish Kumar pointed to Tejashwi and said, “I am the one who made your father the CM.” Even the people of your caste group were against making him CM. Nevertheless, I supported him. “After the death of Karpoori Thakur in 1988, he was gestured here for the role of Nitish Kumar and Shivanand Tiwari in making Lalu Yadav the Leader of Opposition in the assembly. But the RJD leaders do not call it a complete picture.
When Rabri Devi defends Nitish
In recent times, Nitish and Lalu Yadav’s relationships have been seen. Nitish and Lalu have been carrying out each other. Earlier, Nitish Kumar has left the BJP twice and joined hands with RJD. Earlier in September 2023, both parties also got angry. At that time, Tejashwi Yadav had even said that Nitish Kumar had apologized with folded hands to my mother. On this, JDUU demanded evidence. RJD released a video on this. In this, Nitish Kumar is seen folding his hands in front of Rabri Devi. The video was on August 8, 2022. RJD’s membership campaign was started at that time. He was shot at Rabri’s residence 10 Circular Road.
Not only this, when Nitish Kumar made an objectionable remarks in the context of women speaking on population control in the assembly, Rabri Devi defended them. Describing it as Nitish’s words, he had said that when he has withdrawn his point, he should not be given any more. Not only this, Tejashwi Yadav also defended Nitish saying that Nitish Kumar was making statements on population control. This is the case when the RJD and JDU were running the government in Bihar.
