New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India on Wednesday evening after completing his two -day visit to Mauritius. During PM Modi’s visit to Mauritius, the two countries signed eight agreements. After this visit, it is expected that the bilateral relations between the two countries will touch new heights. This journey of PM Modi was useful in many ways. During this journey, he increased relations with the Indians, especially from the migrants of Bihari origin. At a ceremony there, Prime Minister Modi started his speech in Bhojpuri. He presented Mauritius President Dharamvir Gokul in a brass and copper urn presented the holy Sangam water of Prayagraj and the superfood Makhana of Bihar. Addressing the Indian community, PM Modi said that Bihar’s Makhana will soon become a part of breakfast worldwide. On this occasion, he also mentioned Gaurav Nalanda University of Bihar. How powerful BJP is in Bihar
Bihar is one of the few regions of the country where the BJP has never been able to form a government on its own. The BJP has been living as JDU’s junior partner in Bihar for more than two decades. That is why BJP is putting a lot of emphasis in Bihar this time. Prime Minister Modi has presented Madhubani painting to many foreign guests. Apart from this, he met the people of Bihar during his visit to Kuwait. He also offers Makhana to foreign guests, which is linked to the culture of Bihar.
Makhana is seen by associating with the culture of Bihar. In view of this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the formation of Makhana Board in Bihar in the budget presented in February. On the Prime Minister’s visit to Bihar, he was welcomed by wearing a garland of Makhane. Makhana is associated with the cultural identity of Bihar, especially Mithila. Earlier in November last year, President Draupadi Murmu released the Maithili edition of the Constitution. At the same time, the BJP government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee had included Maithili in the eighth schedule of the Constitution. The reason behind giving so much importance to Makhana is on the vote of the BJP, which is not a big contender in Bihar. It is believed that this caste is dominated in Makhane cultivation.

In Mauritius, Gawai is sung on occasions like marriage. In 2016, UNESCO declared it a cultural heritage. The especially the number of India’s population is around 70 percent of the population of 12 lakhs. More than half of these people are Bhojpuri speaking. Bhojpuri is spoken in about 75 seats in Bihar. These include both the assembly seats coming in the districts like Champaran Gopalganj, Siwan, Chapra, Ara, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Bhojpur and Buxar. In Mauritius, PM Modi said that as an MP from Purvanchal, I can understand how emotional Mauritius has with Bihar and Bhojpuri belt.
Why Nalanda University remembers Mauritius
Talking about Nalanda on the journey of Mauritius, PM Modi said, “I also understand your emotional connection with Bihar. When many parts of the world were away from education, a global institute like Nalanda opened in Bihar. Our government has revived Nalanda University and its spirit. ”The revival of Nalanda University has been an important part of the Modi government’s diplomatic efforts. It is based on an attempt to emerge as the world’s world brothers. Last year, PM Modi and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar took the ambassadors of 17 countries to the inauguration of the new campus of Nalanda University next to the ruins of the ancient university.

He has also done this in a visit to other island countries like Guyana, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and Seychelles. He traveled to Guyana last year. Among the population there, people of Indian origin are more than 40 percent. Most of them are of Bihari origin. PM Modi had presented Madhubani painting to President Irfan Ali.
