PM Modi offered prayers at the Somnath temple located in Gir Somnath district on Sunday, the second day of the three-day visit to Gujarat and prayed for the health and prosperity of the countrymen. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi visited Animal Rescue, Protection and Rehabilitation Center Vanatara in Jamnagar district. Later, Modi visited and prayed at the first Shiva temple out of the 12 Jyotirlingas at Prabhas Patan. After visiting the temple, Modi left for Sasan located in the neighboring Junagadh district.
The Mahakumbh of Ekta in Prayagraj was concluded with the efforts of crores of countrymen. Like a servant, I had taken a pledge in the innovation that after Mahakumbh, I will worship Shri Somnath, the first Jyotirlinga of Dwadash Jyotirlinga.

Why PM Modi went to Somnath just after Mahakumbh
PM Modi said in a post on ‘X’ that the yatra was part of his resolve to worship Lord Somnath after the conclusion of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He said, “In Prayagraj,” Mahakumbh of Ekta ‘was concluded with the efforts of crores of countrymen. Like a servant, I had resolved in my mind that after Mahakumbh, I will worship Shri Somnath, the first Jyotirlinga of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

More than 66 crore people took a dip in Mahakumbh
According to the Uttar Pradesh government, more than 66.21 crore devotees from India and the world came to the 45 -day Mahakumbh at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. PM Modi said on ‘X’, “Today, by the grace of Somnath Dada, that resolution has been completed. I dedicate the success of Mahakumbh of unity on behalf of all the countrymen at the feet of Shri Somnath. Also, I pray for his (countrymen) health and prosperity. ”
PM Modi will preside over NBWL meeting today
PM Modi visited Animal Rescue, Conservation and Rehabilitation Center Vanatara in Jamnagar district. Vantara, spread over three thousand acres, is located in the premises of Jamnagar Refinery of Reliance. It is a rescue center dedicated to the welfare of wildlife, and provides sanctuaries, rehabilitation and medical care to animals saved from misconduct and exploitation. On Sunday evening, the headquarters of the Prime Minister Gir Wildlife Sanctuary reached Sasan Gir, where he will preside over the meeting of the National Wildlife Board (NBWL) on the occasion of World Wildlife Day on March 3 (Monday).

PM Modi will enjoy jungle safari in the morning
Officials said that before the meeting, the Prime Minister will enjoy Jungle Safari on Monday morning. NBWL has 47 members, including Army Chiefs, members of various states, representatives of NGOs working in the region, Chief Wildlife Warden and Secretary of various states. Officials said that after the meeting, Modi will talk to some women forest workers in Sasan.
