In Telangana, a retired army man killed his wife. After the murder, to destroy the evidence, the body was cut into small pieces, boiled in a pressure cooker and thrown into the lake. It is being claimed in some reports that the accused had crushed them with a pestle to separate the meat from the bones. The police have arrested the accused.
DSP Nagaraju of Meerpet in Rangareddy district said that on January 18, a woman named Subamma had filed a missing complaint. He had told that his daughter Madhavi (35) was married to Gurumurthy 13 years ago. Gurumurthy is a retired army employee. At present he works as a security guard in Kanchanbagh.

In this case the husband himself is claiming that he has murdered his wife. An FIR has been registered against the accused and investigation is being done. However, the police have not yet found the body pieces.

Police said that the husband and wife were living in Venkateshwar Colony with their two children for the last 5 years. On January 16, Madhavi and her husband Gurumurthy had an argument over some issue and went out of the house.
Gurumurthy confessed to the crime, but police did not find evidence
On the day of the murder, Gurumurthy’s children had gone to meet his sister. He staged a disappearance drama and informed Madhavi’s parents about it. Meerpet SHO K Nagaraju also said that the case is being treated as a missing person’s case as no evidence of suspected murder has been found yet. However, police said Gurumurthy had an argument with Madhavi, following which he killed her.
According to media reports, the arrested accused cut her body into pieces in the bathroom to destroy the evidence of murder. Separated the bones from the meat, crushed them with a pestle and then boiled them. He cooked the meat and bones for three days, after which he packed them in a bag and threw them into a nearby lake.
Police are yet to locate the victim’s body in the lake in which Gurumurthy claimed to have dumped her body parts. An official said that trace teams and dog squads are carrying out the search operation.

10 February 2023: Lover kills live-in partner, hides her in fridge
On 10 February 2023, a young man murdered his live-in partner in Baba Haridas Nagar police station area of Delhi. After this the body was hidden in the fridge. Even before he could dispose of the body, someone informed the police. The deceased Nikki Yadav (22) was a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana. She was living in a live-in relationship with Sahil Gehlot (24) in West Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area since 2018. Sahil’s marriage was fixed somewhere else by the family. There was an argument between Nikki and Sahil on this matter on 9 February.
On February 10, Sahil strangled Nikki to death with a mobile cable in the car near ISBT. After this, he kept roaming around with the dead body in the car, then hid it in the fridge of his dhaba situated on the outskirts of Mitraon village. It came to light when someone informed the police that the dead body was hidden at the dhaba. Sahil also married another girl on 10th February.
