Moscow:
After getting the green signal from America, Ukraine attacked Russia with a long-range missile on Tuesday. Ukraine has used long range missiles for the first time during this war. On this attack, Russia said that Ukraine had fired these missiles at a military base in the Bryansk border area after getting the instigation of America. However, there was no casualty nor any damage.
Ukraine has been demanding for months that Washington let it use long-range ATACMS missiles to attack sites on Russian territory.
Moscow has said that the use of Western weapons to attack Russia’s internationally recognized territory has made the United States a direct participant in the war. Appropriate answer will be given to this.
In its statement, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses shot down five missiles, while fragments of the sixth fell on a military base, causing a small fire.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia’s military capabilities have no comparison with Ukraine and no missile can help Ukraine.
“The Biden administration stands for war, not peace,” Peskov said.
He said, “Officials sitting in the White House decide to use their weapons against the Russian Federation and this is a clear example of the new environment around our country.”
“Potential adversaries should understand that if they try to take an aggressive stance against Russia, a nuclear response becomes inevitable,” Peskov said. If a country attacks us with conventional weapons, but does so with the help and assistance of a nuclear-armed country, we will consider it a joint attack against our country.
Ukraine’s foreign minister praised the permission to use missiles for attacks inside Russia as a potential game changer in the nearly three-year-old war.
