Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday termed the ongoing debate in the country regarding ‘One Nation, One Election’ as ‘important’ for India’s democratic process and a subject related to the future of the youth and urged them to actively participate in it and promote it. Called for.

Prime Minister Modi said this while addressing the annual rally of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Cariappa Parade Ground in the capital Delhi. He said that after independence, for a long time, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held simultaneously, but then this sequence was broken, due to which the country had to suffer a lot.

He said, “In every election, the voter list is updated, a lot of work is done and it often involves the duty of our teachers. Due to which studies are affected. Due to frequent elections, there are difficulties in governance. He said that that is why there is a debate going on in the country on ‘one country, one election’ and people are putting forward their views.
PM Modi’s opinion on One Nation One Election
The Prime Minister said that by holding elections for the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assemblies simultaneously, disruptions can be eliminated and a more focused governance approach can be implemented. He said, “I urge the youth of India to take this debate forward wherever you are and participate in it in large numbers because this is a subject related to your future.” Participation is essential to shape the future political landscape of India.

Referring to frequent elections in India compared to other countries, Modi said the election cycle in the US too is systematic. He underlined that in countries like America, elections are held every four years and the dates for the formation of the new government are fixed.
The Prime Minister said that the strength of any person or country increases when it overcomes unnecessary obstacles. He said that work has been done to remove many obstacles faced by the youth in India in the last 10 years and this has increased the strength of the youth and the strength of the country.
The participation of these cadets in this rally also marks the successful completion of the month-long NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi. The theme of this year’s NCC rally is ‘Youth Power, Developed India’.
The Prime Minister said that the youth are going to determine the development of India as well as the world in the 21st century. He said, “India’s youth are a force not only for India but for global good. Today the world is accepting this.” Modi said that in 2014 the number of NCC cadets in the country was around 14 lakh. “Today, the number is around 20 lakh and among them, more than eight lakh are girl cadets,” he said.
After the Prime Minister reached the venue, more than 800 cadets presented a cultural program showcasing NCC’s commitment towards nation building.
