Chahal and Dhanshree have been different for 2 years
According to the Bar and Bench, the couple, who got married in December 2020, was living separately from June 2022. Subsequently, a petition of divorce was filed in Family Court, Bandra on 5 February, 2025. Along with the petition, an application was also made to forgive the cooling period. A petition was filed for divorce by mutual consent under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act. However, on February 20, the court refused to forgive the 6 -month statutory cooling period, citing partial compliance between Chahal and Verma on 20 February. According to the period of consent, Chahal had agreed to give a permanent alimony of Rs 4 crore 75 lakh to Verma, out of which 2 crore 37 lakhs and 55 thousand have already been paid, the Family Court considered it non-non-non-availability to not pay the remaining amount.
Chahal will have to pay so many crores
According to the conditions of consent, Chahal Verma had agreed to give a permanent alimony of Rs 4 crore 75 lakh to his separated wife. However, the cricketer has so far paid only 2 crore 37 lakh and 55 thousand rupees. Not paying the remaining amount was considered by the court to consider a case of non-non-compliance, hence the cooling of petition was dismissed. After this, after investigating the report of the family counselor, the Family Court ruled, in which the case of non-transportation was revealed. On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court found that the couple have already been living separately for two and a half years, the Family Court has been asked to decide on the divorce petition by Thursday i.e. March 20, which has been considered in Chahal’s participation in the IPL 2025 season.
