A large number of saints and common devotees are coming to take a dip in the Sangam. Till now, not even two days have passed since the beginning of Maha Kumbh Mela and more than 3 crore people have arrived. Talking about today, according to the fair administration, till 12 noon, 1.60 crore people have taken bath in Amrit. The nectar bath of the sages and saints of the Akharas is going on since this morning. Whereas on Monday, 1 crore 65 lakh people had arrived on the first day of bathing.
Sangam city colored in the colors of Mahakumbh, devotees took a dip of faith
If we talk about the beginning of Maha Kumbh Mela i.e. Monday, then till 6 pm on the day of Paush Purnima, 1.65 crore devotees had taken a dip of faith in Ganga and Sangam. During this, flowers were showered on the devotees from the helicopter. Even today, despite the severe cold and fog, crowds of people are seen everywhere in Prayagraj going towards Sangam since morning. Along with taking bath, common devotees are also having darshan of the sages and saints of the Akharas in the Sangam area. Amrit bath of Akharas is going on since Brahma Muhurta.
Amrit bath today in Mahakumbh, flood of devotees
Each Akhara is being given 40 minutes for Amrit Snan. Sadhus and saints are taking bath at Sangam Ghat, while a huge crowd of common devotees is seen at Yamuna Ghat. This morning Amrit Snan started with the dip of the saints of Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara. He took the nectar bath at the confluence with the chant of Har Har Mahadev.
“Lucky people get a chance to take a bath”
After the Amrit Snan, Mahamandaleshwar Chetan Giri Ji Maharaj of Mahanirvani Akhara told PTI, “Every 12 years, Purna Kumbh takes place in Prayagraj and after 12 Purna Kumbhs, this Mahakumbh comes after 144 years. “Very lucky people get the opportunity to take a bath in the Mahakumbh.” He told that 68 Mahamandaleshwars and thousands of saints have taken the nectar bath from Mahanirvani Akhara.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Sadhvi of Niranjani Akhara and former minister, said, “The crowd of youth at the ghat shows how much faith the youth have towards Sanatan Dharma. Whenever anyone challenged Sanatan Dharma, the youth and saint community came forward and protected the religion.”
Bam-bam of saints and sages on the banks of Sangam
After Niranjani Akhara and Anand Akhara, thousands of saints from Juna Akhara and Avahan Akhara, the largest in number, took the nectar bath. Among them, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshanand Giri of Juna Akhara came to the bathing ghat riding on a grand chariot and along with him were thousands of Naga Sannyasis. The nectar bath of thirteen Akharas one by one is likely to be completed by 4 pm.
Flowers will be showered on devotees on bathing festivals
According to the fair administration, on the occasion of Paush Purnima, the first bathing festival of Mahakumbh 2025, 1.65 crore devotees took a dip in the Ganga and Sangam till 6 pm on Monday. During the first Snan Parv, flowers were showered from helicopters on the devotees at all the ghats and akhadas. He told that the Horticulture Department had specially arranged for rose petals for the flower shower. Preparations have been made to shower about 20 quintals of rose petals on all the bathing festivals of Mahakumbh. Kalpvas, which lasts for a month, has also started from Paush Purnima. During this time, people live a kind of ascetic life by taking bath in Ganga all three times for a month and singing hymns of God. Today is the second day of the fair and there is also nectar bath. A large number of devotees are expected to arrive by the evening.
