Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to the media after the stampede at Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Giving information, CM Yogi said that the devotees wanted to go towards the Sangam Nose, broke the barricade and proceeded, due to which some people were injured. Some devotees are seriously injured. Devotees are continuously reaching with the commencement of the Muhurta of Mauni Amavasya. PM Modi has called 4 times from the morning and has to know the condition of devotees.

Things are common in Mahakumbh

CM Yogi also told that Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda are also constantly taking reports for Mahakumbh and bathing. I have spoken to the saints. The revered saints have politely said that the devotees take a bath, when their pressure is over, then we will go towards the confluence. The situation is normal in Prayagraj, but there is a lot of pressure on the crowd. There are 8 to 10 crore devotees in Prayagraj. By 8 am, more than 3 crore people have taken a bath.

About 8-10 crore devotees present in Prayagraj

Around 8-10 crore devotees are present in Prayagraj today. There is constant pressure due to the arrival of devotees towards Sangam Noj. Some devotees have suffered serious injuries in an attempt to cross barricading on the Akhara road. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The Mahuni Amavasya’s Mahurta has started last night, since then a large number of devotees are coming. The Prime Minister has taken stock of the situation four times so far.

CM Yogi’s appeal to devotees

The situation in Prayagraj is under control, but the crowd is still enough. The saints of various akhadas have politely said that the devotees first take a holy bath and when the crowd is reduced, the arena will move forward for the holy bath. Sangam Nose, Nag Vasuki Marg and Sangam Marg are quite crowded. My appeal is that they do not pay attention to any rumor, ghats have been built in the entire Kumbh region, devotees do not need to go only to Sangam Nose. Devotees should take a holy bath on their nearest ghats. We are ensuring proper treatment of injured persons. Railways have deployed special trains to take devotees back to their destination from various stations in Prayagraj region.

Nobody pay attention to rumors

The administration is cooperating with the devotees with full promptness. Do not pay attention to any rumor. People cooperate. Where they are, they should take a bath and leave. All the ghats are the ghats of Ganga ji. If you spread a rumor, then a big incident can happen. Therefore, it is important that the rumor should not be noticed and take a bath on where it is. Along with this, I wish the injured to recover soon.
