Noted writer and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy has expressed pride in her son-in-law and former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the UK for the ‘good Indian cultural values’ inculcated by his parents in his upbringing. Sudha Murthy attended the annual Diwali function of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here on Saturday evening as the chief guest, where Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy (Sudha Murthy’s daughter) were also present.
Sudha Murthy said in her address, “I always believe that when you are abroad, your parents must do two things: One is good education, which gives you wings and you can go anywhere and just Can. Second is the great culture, your core which is Indian origin or roots, you can find that with your parents in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
She said, “I would like to congratulate my relative and good friend Usha ji, who provided an excellent way for her son, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, to connect with Indian culture, resulting in him becoming a proud British citizen with good Indian cultural values.” Established.”
