Kolkata Police has registered an FIR against West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu, his driver and TMC leader Om Prakash Mishra over the clashes at Jadavpur University.

The court said that ‘peaceful demonstrations are part of the democratic process and students should get an opportunity to learn from it’. The next hearing of the case will be held on 2 May.
