Bhuvneshwar Kumar post for Sunrisers Hyderabad: Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Thursday bid farewell to Sunrisers Hyderabad after spending more than a decade with the franchise and thanked his former IPL team for the “unforgettable and memorable” memories. Bhuvneshwar was included in the list of capped bowlers on the second day of the IPL 2025 auction as he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10.75 crore. He will return to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for RCB, the franchise he represented in the 2009 and 2010 campaigns.
Sharing a compilation video of his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar posted on Instagram, “After 11 incredible years with Sunrisers Hyderabad, I say goodbye to this team. I have so many unforgettable and memorable memories. One thing I can’t ignore is the love your fans have shown me forever.”

I have so many unforgettable and cherishable memories.

Bhuvneshwar started his IPL journey with RCB in 2009, but missed his first two seasons before moving to the now-defunct Pune Warriors. After spending three seasons with the team, he decided to move to Sunrisers in 2014, where he represented the team for over a decade and became the team’s all-time leading wicket-taker. He has played 176 matches in the league and has taken 181 wickets in his name.
Let us tell you, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained its main players including Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen, who showed strength in the last season. The Cummins-led team was successful in acquiring the players they wanted at a good price. They include Ishan Kishan (Rs 11.25 crore), Mohammed Shami (Rs 10 crore), Harshal Patel (Rs 8 crore) and Adam Zampa (Rs 2.40 crore). They also have good backup for the Indian fast bowlers and Rahul Chahar is another effective leg-spin option along with Zampa.
