Tension on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been increasing for some time. The situation has become even more serious after the Pakistani airstrike in Afghanistan. Now 15 thousand Taliban fighters are moving towards the border of Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also deployed its army from Peshawar and Quetta on the border.
Pakistani embassy in-charge summoned
If sources are to be believed, some troops of the Pakistani Army have reached the Afghan border, while the Afghan Taliban has come near the Mir Ali border. Although there is no news of firing yet, but deployment has been increased from both sides, due to which the situation remains quite delicate.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the in-charge of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul. The Afghan Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned this attack and called it an attempt to create a rift in the relations between the two countries.
Crisis increased due to Pakistan’s airstrike?
The dispute started when Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) killed 30 Pakistani Army soldiers in Waziristan. In response to this, Pakistan tried to send a message by carrying out air strikes that it will not tolerate the killing of its soldiers. But, this retaliation has now turned into a big crisis.
The Afghan Taliban have a large amount of weapons and have the ability to hide in inaccessible areas. They have a stock of modern weapons like AK-47, mortar, rocket launcher. Moreover, they attack from mountains and caves about which the Pakistani Army is not even aware.
Shahbaz Sharif government suffering from problems
Shehbaz Sharif government is already struggling with problems like economic crisis, delay in CPEC project and separatism in Balochistan. These issues have weakened both the government and the army. Now the conflict with Taliban has further increased this crisis.
The Taliban emerged in the 1990s after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Afghanistan. Taliban means ‘student’ in Pashto language, especially students who are inspired by radical Islamic religious teachings. It is believed that their foundation was laid in Pakistan by radical Sunni Islamic scholars, who received financial help from Saudi Arabia.
People in panic after deployment of soldiers
Initially, Taliban had stated its objective to end foreign rule from Islamic areas and establish Sharia law and Islamic state there. Although his methods reduced his popularity, by then he had become so powerful that it became difficult to deal with him.
Due to increasing activities on Mir Ali border, Pakistan has kept its army on alert. The deployment of troops in the border areas has been intensified. There is an atmosphere of fear among the local people and the situation is indicating a major conflict.
