Former Ranji player and MLC Mohsin Raza is running a campaign to save Uttar Pradesh cricket. He had made several allegations of corruption against the officials of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), after which UPCA held a press conference and refuted all the allegations.

Now Mohsin Raza is preparing to go to court. He talked to Dainik Bhaskar regarding this. He said that he has given complete information to the Chief Minister about the corruption prevalent in UPCA. After this, further action is being taken. He said- A society was wrongly converted into a company. Children are not being given opportunities, lakhs of rupees are being taken directly in the name of selection.

Question: Demand for reforms in UPCA is being raised continuously, what is the issue? answer: There is no dearth of talented players. We have demanded for this. Met the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister regarding the demand for reforms in UPCA. There are less shops here. There should be more than one cricket association in a state like UP. We should have more than one team.
There have been many complaints of corruption in UPCA. We have raised their voice. The Cricket Association has gone under the Companies Act. In 2005, under the influence of a leader, it was changed to Company Act instead of Society Act. When we played Ranji, it was a society.
Jyoti Vajpayee was the secretary and treasurer of BCCI at that time. The company does not work in the democratic process. In this, dark deeds were done in UP Cricket Association by appointing their own people as directors.
Question: What are the black exploits, tell about them? answer: Cases of money transactions with players are coming to light. I have many audios. The starting rate for Under-16 is Rs 15 lakh, for Under-23 it is Rs 25 lakh. In Ranji Trophy, people were brought from other states and made captains. Crores of rupees are being collected continuously. There are 8 officers in UPCA who have criminal cases against them. Players should raise their voice.
Question: What have you talked to the Chief Minister, what does he have to say? answer: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been informed about the entire incident. This is a big incident in UP, I am surprised why people did not raise their voice. My government takes immediate action in such cases. Cases have been registered against the director, selector and official in different districts. We are fighting to get justice for the people. Will go to High Court and Supreme Court regarding this.

Question: What is the matter of Company Act, what is the problem in it? answer: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association is a registered organization of 1955-56. It was wrongly converted from society. Lodha Committee has not been considered in this. Complaints have been made everywhere from BCCI about this. We are studying the matter. There are 36 such districts which it does not even take into consideration. This is half the population of UP. Children who want to become Piyush Chawla, Suresh Raina, RP Singh, but cannot.

Question: Are you saying there is no transparency on the selection process? answer: The selection process is bad, I believe there should be competition at the district level. The records of the children who are playing matches should be online. Attention should be paid to his performance. 800-1000 children are tested. Transparency is not maintained in this. Cricket academy was set up in Unnao. The same process happened in Ghaziabad also. Cricket is not being promoted. Here children are being exploited and parents are being harassed. A private company gave the task of opening a canteen at Green Park Stadium. This company has been formed illegally. We will demand the formation of a committee for children, in which a judge should also be present.
