Bumrah nominated for ICC Cricketer and Test Cricketer of the Year: Took 86 wickets in all three formats together in 2024; Made India win the T20 World Cup

Jasprit Bumrah has taken 203 wickets in 44 test matches for India.

Fast bowler Bumrah has been nominated by ICC for Men’s Cricketer of Year and Test Cricketer of Year for 2024.

On Monday, 4 players each were shortlisted for Cricketer of Year and Test Cricketer of Year. Apart from Bumrah, England’s Joe Root, Harry Brook and Australia’s Travis Head have also been included in the list for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy.

His highest score during this period was 262 runs. Which is the best score of his career. England’s Harry Brook scored 1100 runs in 12 tests at an average of 55.

The fourth name for the Sir Garfield Trophy is Travis Head. He has scored 608 runs in 9 test matches at an average of 40.53. Not only this, he has scored 539 runs at a strike rate of 178.47 in 15 T20 Internationals played in 2024.

Former England captain Joe Root has scored 1556 runs in 2024.

Bumrah proved effective in Australia In the first match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against Australia, Jasprit Bumrah took a total of 8 wickets and single-handedly won the Test match for India. Whereas in the first innings of this test match, the Indian team could score only 150 runs. Bumrah was also captaining. Bumrah is the top wickettaker in BGT 2024-25. He has taken 30 wickets in 4 matches so far.

Name of Kamindu Mendis from Sri Lanka Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis has scored 1049 runs in 9 Tests this year at an average of 74.92. He has been nominated for ICC Test Cricketer of Year. He is the joint third fastest player to score 1000 Test runs. He equaled Sir Don Bradman’s record of 13 innings to reach this feat.

Mendis played brilliantly in the 2-0 Test series win against New Zealand. He scored 2 centuries in 2 test matches. He scored unbeaten 182 runs on 250 balls at Galle ground. Which is his best test score so far. He was also chosen Player of the Match.

Mendis has scored 1049 runs in 9 tests this year at an average of 74.92.
