Cakes with artificial colors and flavors are increasing the risk of cancer, cancer factors found in 12 samples

2.Artificial Colors and Flavors

Artificial colors and flavors are used in many ready-made cakes sold in the market. If this chemical goes inside the body for a long time then it is sure to affect our health. Some colors and chemicals can cause serious diseases like cancer in cake. Apart from this, they can also cause allergies and stomach problems.

  1. Hydrogenated Oil

Hydrogenated oil is used in some cakes, which increases the level of trans-fats in the body. Use of hydrogenated oil can cause problems like swelling in the body. This oil is added to keep the cake fresh and soft for a longer time but it is dangerous for our heart and body.

4.Excess Sodium and Sugar

The cakes sold in the market contain high amounts of salt and sugar. Eating too much of these causes diseases like obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Eating them for a long time brings major diseases to our body.

Preservatives like sodium benzoate and calcium propionate are added to packaged cakes so that the cake does not spoil for a long time. But these preservatives can accumulate in the body and cause diseases. Their excessive use causes cancer (Cancer in cake), allergies and digestion problems.

According to dietitian Chirag Barjatya, at a time when any product available in the market cannot be trusted, especially when it comes to health, then making cakes at home is the best option. Still, if you are buying a cake then at least check its ingredients. These may be some options for you –

Preservatives, artificial flavors and colors used in market cakes increase the risk of diseases like heart and stomach as well as cancer. In such a situation, making cake at home is a better option, because you can use pure ingredients in it.

Natural sweeteners like whole grain flour, desi ghee, honey or jaggery make it healthy too. If you use fresh fruits in the cake along with these, it can become more nutritious.

2.Cakes Without Sugar

If you have to buy cake from the market, then choose cakes that are made from whole grains like oats, millet or multigrain flour. These are better than refined flour and sugar.

3.Gluten and Chemical Free Cake

Cakes from some chemical-free and preservative-free brands available in the market can also be a good option. While buying these, make sure to check the ingredients given on the packet.

4.Sugar Free Cake

Sugar-free cake is a better option for those who are worried about diabetes or weight. Stevia and erythritol are used instead of sugar in these cakes. Low-calorie cakes use low-fat and low-calorie ingredients, making them safe and light for your health. However, while buying cakes, it must be kept in mind that no chemicals have been used in them.
