No Detention Policy In Education Ends Students fail in class 5th and 8th no longer promoted. Jamshedpur-The Government of India has taken a big decision. Now students who fail in the fifth and eighth class exams will not be promoted to the next class. The government has amended the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009. The government has ended the ‘no detention policy’. Till now, under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, children were not failed till class 8th. A gazette related to this has been published. According to this, it has been implemented from Monday. The effect of the amended policy in the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009 of the Government of India will be applicable to private and government schools including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Sainik Schools.

If you fail, you will have to take the exam again after two months.

According to the gazette issued by the Government of India, if a student fails in class 5th and 8th, he will be given a chance to retake the exam within two months. If for some reason he fails again, he will not be promoted. He will have to study again in the same class in which he was already studying.

No child will be expelled from school till eighth grade

This provision has been added in the Government Gazette that under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, no weak child can be kept out of school till eighth grade under any circumstances. If any student is weak then a list of such children will be prepared by the school management. Special classes will be organized for these children from time to time. Along with this, weak children will be monitored separately. Counseling of parents of failing children will be done by experts. This arrangement will have to be made by the school management.

No detention policy has already ended here

The no detention policy has already ended in 16 states and 2 union territories (Delhi and Puducherry) of the country. After the implementation of this order, the Jharkhand government will take a decision on this decision at its own level. Now the Jharkhand government has to decide whether it will implement it or not, because school education is a state subject. This is why the state is free to take its own decision in this regard.
