The Congress Party has organized a special meeting of the Party Working Committee (CWC) in Belagavi (old name Belgaum), Karnataka on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi assuming the post of Congress President. 100 years ago in 1924, Mahatma Gandhi presided over the Congress Working Committee in Belagavi itself. Now after 100 years in 2024, the party is going to hold the working committee meeting at the same place.
Earlier, Congress said that today BJP wants to break the unity of the country by inciting hatred on the basis of caste and religion. The party said that from where Gandhiji had taught India the value of harmony, unity, love and disobedience towards dictatorial forces. The Congress Party and crores of its workers are today fully committed to reviving the Gandhian ideals of truth, non-violence and love.
