In view of the New Year celebrations, the police have made special arrangements. Police are deployed at every nook and corner. In such a situation, if you drive after drinking alcohol, you may have to face jail along with heavy challan.
20 thousand police personnel will be deployed
In order to maintain law and order on New Year’s Eve, Delhi Police has made elaborate traffic arrangements everywhere in the national capital including Connaught Place and also imposed some restrictions. In view of the gathering of people in large numbers to welcome the New Year, about 20 thousand police and paramilitary force personnel have been deployed in Delhi. A senior police officer said that 50 teams equipped with ‘alcometer’ will be deployed at major places to take action against drunken driving.
No need for hoodlums…
According to the police, traffic personnel will be deployed in large numbers in Delhi and they will mainly keep an eye on popular places like Connaught Place, Hauz Khas and India Gate. The official said that traffic will be restricted around Connaught Place after 8 pm and police have distributed ‘stickers’ for vehicles entering there after 8 pm. Entry with vehicles has been banned at 10 places in Connaught Place. Apart from this, employees will be deployed at 14 places around India Gate who will keep an eye on the hooligans. Police said that about 20 thousand policemen, including traffic police and paramilitary forces, will be deployed to curb hooliganism and those who violate traffic rules.
Responsibility for security system divided into two zones
New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Devesh Kumar Mahala said that the system divided into two zones will be completely monitored by DCP New Delhi. The DCP said, ‘Zone-A will be monitored by Additional DCP-1 at places like Sansad Marg and Connaught Place and Zone-B will be monitored by Additional DCP-2 at places like Chanakya Puri, Barakhamba Road and Tughlaq Road. Four ACPs, 23 inspectors, 648 police personnel, 100 home guards, 11 companies of Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed there. Police said that two ambulance vans, two fire engines, two jail vans, two teams of bomb disposal squad, 28 door frame metal detectors, two teams of SWAT, three teams of Parakram vehicles, 33 MPVs, 30 motorcycle patrol teams, 43 Foot patrolling teams, 29 border check posts, 30 vehicle checking teams at parking lots, seven plainclothes monitoring teams and five arrest teams were deployed. Will go.
A challan of Rs 10,000 and also imprisonment…
If someone is found driving after drinking more than the limit, a challan of Rs 10,000 can be issued to him. In serious cases, imprisonment for a few months may also be imposed. Section 185 under the Motor Vehicle Act is imposed against the driver for drunk driving. The vehicle can be confiscated under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act. In such a situation, you have to go to court to get your car back.
