Naiduniya Representative, Indore. The fraud of Rs 1 crore 60 lakh committed against stock trader Vandana Gupta has foreign connections. Cyber ​​criminals had called him from Laos. Police have arrested three accused in the case who were involved in issuing fake SIM cards and sending them to Laos via Thailand.

A woman also connected with the agent through Instagram. The accused used to sell SIM cards by setting up camps in villages and kept a duplicate SIM with them and sent them abroad. These fake SIM cards were used in fraud.

The woman was digitally arrested

According to Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotia, 59-year-old Vandana, a resident of Bicholi Mardana, was digitally arrested two months ago. Vandana, who is involved in share trading, was said to be involved in the money laundering case related to Jet Airlines founder Naresh Goyal case and was interrogated for three days by posing as CBI, Delhi Crime Branch, ED, RBI officers.

60 lakh rupees deposited

The accused got Vandana to deposit Rs 1 crore 60 lakh in FD and bank accounts. Police have so far arrested 13 accused in this case. On Monday, Gaurav Tiwari resident of Kurai (Seoni), Yogesh Patle resident of Seoni and Sujal Suryavanshi resident of Seoni were caught.

Started selling SIM cards cheaply to villagers

Gaurav told during interrogation that along with worship, he also works as a salesman in a private company. Last year he worked as a POS agent in Airtel Telecom. His partner Yogesh demanded fake SIM cards and both of them set up camps in Seoni, Kurai and nearby villages and started selling cheap SIM cards to the villagers.

During e-KYC, he used to immediately give e-SIM cards to the accused customers. He used to get D-SIM card issued and kept it himself. In return he used to get Rs 350 per SIM card.

Accused Yogesh Patle

Yogesh Patle has done BA from Chhindwara. Has been a promoter in a telecom company. He has given OTPs of fake numbers to cyber criminals for WhatsApp calls.

Accused Gaurav Tiwari

Used to do the work of worship. He also started supplying SIM cards in rural areas by setting up camps. The accused has sold more than 450 SIM cards.

Accused Sujal Suryavanshi

Was in constant touch with cyber criminals sitting in Laos. The tap serves as a fitting for display. His sister was friends with Kallis.

Girl became friends on Instagram, then married a thug

According to ADCP, the number from which the accused made video call to Vandana was also provided by Gaurav Tiwari and Yogesh Patle. During interrogation, the accused told that Sujal’s sister had befriended Kallis Hans on Instagram. Kallis, originally a resident of Firozpur (Punjab), asked for his SIM card.

The girl told Sujal. He took Rs 500 per SIM card from Kallis and bought the SIM card from Gaurav for Rs 350. After some time the girl got married to Kallis for love.

Kallis supplied around 450 SIM cards to cyber criminals. He used to meet only in Thailand. After this Kallis also went to Laos.

Cyber ​​criminals used to run WhatsApp from fake number

Yogesh, who has done BA, has been a promoter in a telecom company. He is friends with SIM card sellers. For about seven months, he has provided SIM cards to cyber criminals to use WhatsApp. Yogesh gave OTPs of about 20 numbers to the gang members, which were also used in video calls. When WhatsApp numbers were blocked, the accused would immediately buy new numbers.
