The incident of fire has come to light once again on Thursday in the Mahakumbh Mela area running in Sangam city Prayagraj. According to the information, the fire started near Jhunsi Chhatnag Ghat Nageshwar Ghat Sector-22 of the Mela area, which spread to many pandals on seeing it. As soon as the fire broke out, the fire brigade team reached the spot and after hard work, the fire was controlled. More than 15 tents were gutted in the arson. Thankfully there has been no loss of life in this incident.

Pramod Sharma, Chief Fire Officer of Kumbh said that the fire was received in the Chamanganj police post area outside Sector 22 this afternoon, on which the fire was extinguished by taking immediate action. He said that there was a problem in the fire brigade vehicles due to lack of route to reach the spot. However, the fire was completely extinguished and there was no loss of life nor any injured.

According to the Deputy District Magistrate (SDM), the tent was unauthorized. 15 tents were burnt in this fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Also, the tents present in Mahakumbh Mela are being instructed. The SDM said that the area in which the fire was caught falls under the Chamanganj post. Local police has also been informed.

This is the third incident of fire in Kumbh Mela area. On January 19, there was a fire in the camp of Geeta Press in Sector-19 near Shastri Bridge in Mahakumbh in which many cottages were burnt. According to the Mahakumbh administration, the accident occurred due to gas leaking while making tea from small cylinders in the kitchen of Geeta Press. Two gas cylinders kept in the kitchen were blasted due to the fire.

The administration had controlled the fire as soon as the fire broke out. After this, on 25 January, two trains parked in Sector-2 of Mahakumbh Nagar Mela area caught fire, although it was immediately controlled. No casualties were reported in this incident. The officer present on the spot said that the fire was extinguished with the help of a big fire engine with 4,500 liters of water capacity.

Significantly, despite all the claims of the agile system in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, there was a fierce stampede a day earlier, in which more than 30 people died, while many people were injured. The Uttar Pradesh government first did Hilahwali to inform about the stampede incident and then confirmed the death of the devotees after about 18 hours. The government’s system is being questioned due to frequent fire and stampede incidents in Kumbh.
