The passengers of the Air India Express plane coming from Phuket, Thailand to Delhi have claimed to be stranded there for 80 hours. Passengers say that the airlines have put the lives of the passengers at risk. The incident occurred on the night of 16th November, when the Air India Express aircraft (I377, I-bus 320) was about to fly from Phuket to Delhi. But due to technical fault the flight was delayed by 6 hours. During this time, passengers were kept at the airport without any facilities. Then the passengers were boarded in the plane, but after 1 hour the flight was canceled and they were deboarded. During this time, all the passengers, including many elderly people and children, remained in great distress.
After this, the plane was prepared for flight again the next day (24 hours later). The passengers were boarded in the same plane and taken off. But after 2.24 hours of flight, it was landed back in Phuket due to technical fault. Passengers are still stranded in Phuket for 80 hours. However, till now no response has been received from Air India regarding this matter.
According to posts made by passengers on social media, more than 100 passengers of Air India’s New Delhi bound flight have been stranded in Phuket, Thailand for more than 80 hours due to a technical glitch. NDTV has contacted the airline for comment, but has not yet received a reply.
The plane is fine, but…
It is said that the same plane which had broken down was flown and it was said that the plane was absolutely fine. After 2 hours and 24 minutes of flight, the plane was landed back in Phuket due to technical fault. Passengers are still stuck in Phuket (Thailand) for 80 hours.
What did sources related to Air India say?
According to information received from sources related to Air India, the flight was not flown on 16 November due to duty time limitation. When the plane was flown on November 17, it encountered a technical issue, due to which an emergency landing took place. The plane could not be repaired, this caused problems
Company sources said that stay arrangements were made for all the passengers and everyone will be compensated for the loss. Sources said that many passengers have been sent. There are 35-40 passengers, who are currently in Phuket, they will be flown out by this evening’s flight.
