Along with the northern states of the country, the effect of cold is continuously increasing in the states of Central India also. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in 8 states. These include Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha and West Bengal.
Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are currently the coldest states due to snowfall in the northern Indian states. The Meteorological Department said that the night temperature in Lahaul Spiti, Himachal has reached minus 11 degrees. The cold here may increase further in the coming days.
At the same time, in Central India, the eastern part of MP i.e. Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol and Sagar divisions are experiencing more cold. The minimum temperature in Shahdol and Mandla is lower than Shimla, Dehradun, Jammu and Katra. The night temperature here has reached below 7 degrees.
On the other hand, Fengal storm may hit Tamil Nadu tomorrow i.e. on the morning of 30th November. Due to its effect, heavy rains are continuing in many districts of Tamil Nadu for the last 3 days. Rain has also been predicted in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka today.

Due to cold in Varanasi, less people are reaching Assi Ghat in the morning. There was fog here on Friday morning.
The temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 2.1 degrees. The temperature here may fall further in the coming days.

Impact of storm in 4 southern states…
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry: Very heavy rainfall at isolated places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on 27 and 29 November.
Andhra Pradesh: On 27 November, light to moderate rain occurred at many places and heavy rain occurred in some areas. There is an alert of heavy rain on 28 and 29 November.
Kerala: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places and heavy rain in some areas on November 28.
What are the preparations to deal with the storm?
- Collectors of the districts likely to be affected by the storm told the Chief Minister that adequate number of relief camps and medical teams have been kept on standby and all necessary arrangements have been made.
- Stalin has ordered all the officials to make all the necessary things available in the relief centers and to bring people from low-lying areas to safe places before the storm hits.
- Fishermen have been advised not to venture into south-west Bay of Bengal, Sri Lanka and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu till November 29.
- Also avoid fishing in west-central Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of South Andhra Pradesh from 27 to 29 November. Fishermen present in the sea have been advised to return to the shore immediately.
