People of Delhi-NCR will no longer have to depend on Delhi Airport for air travel now. Passengers have now got another option. New flight services have started from Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad. Flight services from Hindon Airport to Bengaluru, Kolkata and Goa have started from March 1, 2025. Lok Sabha MP Atul Garg says that work has started towards making Hindon an international airport. Flight from Hindon to London will also be started.
Flights to Chennai and Jammu from 22 March
The first flight from Hindon Airport was flagged off by Union Civil Aviation Minister K.K. Rammohan Naidu, Lok Sabha MP Atul Garg and many activists were shown in the presence. In the first journey of this flight, all these people also went on travel. Apart from this, flights are going to start to Chennai and Jammu from 22 March. Now direct flights will be available to these major cities from Hindon Airport, which will provide more convenience to passengers.
Planning from Hindon to London
With the commencement of Hindon Airport, people of cities like Ghaziabad, Noida and Meerut will benefit the most. The Union Minister said that the people of western Uttar Pradesh will benefit greatly from this new connectivity. Now people will save time and they will not have to go to the International Airport in Delhi. Flights will also be started for Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya in the coming time. Air India Express has decided to start flights from Hindon Airport. Union Civil Aviation Minister K.K. Rammohan Naidu said that in the beginning the frequency of flight was low, but now it is being increased. There is also a plan to start a flight from Hindon Airport to London in future.
Hindon to become International Airport?
Lok Sabha MP Atul Garg described it as a historic step in a conversation with the media and said that this will reduce the time of travel and increase facilities. This step will recognize Hindon Airport as a major airport. He said that it was to be started long ago, but due to some reason it could not start. Now taking initiative in this direction, it has been started. Steps have also been started to make it an international airport. At present, all the destinations in UP will be covered. This step will prove to be a milestone. This will also increase the image of the state. This will benefit 1.25 crore people.
40 flights to VK
The first flight on the Kolkata-Hindon road landed in Hindon at 9.30 am. The flight from Kolkata to Hindon will operate daily, while the flight from Hindon to Kolkata will operate six days a week except Saturday. Flights will fly from Kolkata at 7.10 am and reach Hindon daily at 9.30 am, while return flights will leave from Hindon Airport at 5.20 pm and reach Kolkata at 7.40 pm. The airline said it would operate 40 weekly flights from Hindon, which would directly connect Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Jammu and Kolkata.
