On the sacred occasion of Mahakumbh 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a bath with saints and sages at the Sangam in Prayagraj on Monday. Before this, Amit Shah also discussed with saints. Extensive preparations were made by the administration for the arrival of the Home Minister. During this, CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed Amit Shah. The Home Minister first reached the selfie point Arail Ghat. Home Minister Amit Shah has reached Mahakumbh with his family.

Amit Shah worshiped Ganga
After the holy bath, Amit Shah also took part in Ganga puja. The sages and saints made him worship Ganga. Along with Amit Shah, his entire family was also present on this occasion.
During this time he also fed the fishes. Amit Shah has reached Mahakumbh with his entire family. During this time, he also got his grandson blessed by saints.
Let us tell you that Sangam, the place of confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati, is considered a symbol of attaining salvation and self-purification in Sanatan Dharma. The Union Home Minister honored the rich cultural traditions of the country by taking a holy bath with the saints and sages.
CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed Shah
Earlier, on reaching Prayagraj, Shah was welcomed at the airport by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak. BJP state unit chief Bhupendra Chaudhary and other party leaders also welcomed Shah at the airport. At around 12 noon, Shah reached the VIP Ghat in Arail at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the legendary Saraswati.

Shah discussed with Acharya Avadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj
Along with Chief Minister Adityanath, Shah interacted with Juna Peethadhishwar Mahamandaleshwar Acharya Avadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj and some other top saints on a floating ghat. During Shah’s visit, unprecedented security arrangements were made in the fair area and Prayagraj. The fair area was declared a complete no-vehicle zone, while diversions were made at several places in Prayagraj city, affecting local people and pilgrims.
Amit Shah had earlier posted on social media X handle that “’Maha Kumbh’ is a unique symbol of the continuous stream of Sanatan culture. Aquarius reflects our eternal philosophy of life based on harmony. Today, I am eager to take a bath in the Sangam and take the blessings of the saints in this great festival of unity and integrity in the religious city of Prayagraj.”
Let us tell you that during his recent visit to Gujarat, Amit Shah had underlined the importance of Mahakumbh and requested all the people to definitely participate in Mahakumbh. Amit Shah had said, “Kumbh gives us the message of peace and harmony. Kumbh does not ask you what religion, caste or sect you belong to. It embraces all people.” Emphasizing this, Shah had said that no other program or function in the world gives such a message of unity as is given through Kumbh. Along with this, Shah had also appealed to the youth of Gujarat to go to the Mahakumbh and enjoy the divine experience.
