Chasing India’s target of 534 runs, Australia collapsed for 238 runs in 58.4 overs. In this way, Team India created a new record for its biggest win at home by defeating Australia by 295 runs on the fourth day in the Perth Test match. After this, Jasprit Bumrah took charge alone as captain and created a sensation by taking 5 wickets while bowling 18 overs during Australia’s first innings. Bumrah’s dangerous bowling devastated the Australian top order as a result of which the host team was bundled out for just 104 runs in the first innings. After this, Indian team’s acting captain Bumrah managed to take 3 wickets in the second innings of Australia also. Bumrah has become the second fast bowler from India to win the Player of the Match award in Tests on Australian soil as captain. Earlier, Kapil Dev had achieved this big feat in the Adelaide Test in 1985.
