Venkatesh Iyer, IPL Mega Auction: KKR has once again surprised in the IPL Mega Auction. In the last IPL, KKR shook the world by buying Mitchell Starc for Rs 24.75 crore. At the same time, now in this auction, Kolkata Knight Riders have surprised by buying Venkatesh Iyer (Venkatesh Iyer Price, IPL 2025 Auction) for Rs 23.75 crore. That means KKR has now changed the fortunes of Venkatesh Iyer. Venkatesh Iyer’s base price in IPL mega auction was Rs 2 crore. KKR was the first to bid on Venkatesh, after which Lucknow also started bidding. After these two, Bengaluru started bidding to buy Venkatesh Iyer, after which there was panic among the franchises.
The battle between Bengaluru and KKR to buy Venkatesh became interesting. Both the franchises started showering money on this player and in the end KKR won. KKR pacified Bengaluru by bidding Rs 23.75 crore and finally KKR included Venkatesh Iyer in their team. Venkatesh Iyer has now become the third most expensive Indian player in IPL history after Pant and Iyer.
