The second and final phase of voting (Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024 Second Phase Voting) is on Wednesday in Jharkhand. Voting is taking place today on 38 seats out of total 81 assembly seats, in which the fate of many veterans is at stake. In this, the electoral fate of 528 candidates including Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren and opposition leader and BJP candidate Amar Kumar Bauri is to be decided. The first phase of voting in Jharkhand was held on 13 November. On one side in the state, there is BJP led NDA and on the other side, it is faced by the opposition’s India Alliance.

The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed for voting for the last phase in Jharkhand. He said, “Today is the second and last phase of the great festival of democracy in Jharkhand. I appeal to all the voters to participate enthusiastically in it and create a new record of voting. On this occasion, all our youth who are going to vote for the first time, I especially congratulate my friends. Each of your votes is the strength of the state.

Voting for the final phase of Jharkhand assembly elections is going on since morning. JMM MP Nalin Soren cast his vote at a polling station in Dumka. BJP government is being formed- BJP candidate
BJP candidate from Dhanbad Raj Sinha said that the current trend being seen at the time of voting and the way people have come out to vote, I can definitely say that BJP government is going to be formed.

Enthusiasm among voters of Jharkhand

Tough fight between JMM-BJP
There is a tough fight in Jharkhand between the ruling JMM-led India Alliance and the BJP-led NDA. Voting has started at 14,218 polling stations, which will continue till 5 pm. Voting at 31 of these polling stations will end at 4 pm only.
Fate of 528 candidates at stake
A total of 1.23 crore voters, including 60.79 lakh women, will exercise their franchise in Jharkhand. Of the total 528 candidates, 472 are men, 55 are women and one transgender is in the fray. The JMM-led alliance is trying to retain power on the basis of its welfare schemes, while the BJP is fighting the election on the issues of Hindutva, infiltration from Bangladesh and corruption of the current government.
8 out of 38 seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, illegal materials and cash worth about Rs 200 crore have been seized. He said that 90 cases related to violation of the model code of conduct have been registered. He told that out of 38 seats, 8 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes and three for Scheduled Castes.
