JMI Fees: Reading in Jamia Milia Islamia will now be expensive, university increased fees up to 41%

Jmi fees: Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) has announced an increase in fees of various courses for its new academic session 2025-26. Under this increase, tuition fees of many courses have been increased by 16 to 41 percent, which is likely to put additional economic pressure on the students. The university administration says that this growth is necessary to maintain high quality education and modern resources of the institute. If compared to previous year’s prospectus, it is clear that there has been a huge increase in tuition fees. This growth has been implemented in many courses including graduation, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Some professional and technical courses have seen more fees hike, which can make the situation more difficult for students choosing these courses.

Increase in fees for many courses

According to the new prospectus, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has significantly increased the fees of its various courses, which can increase economic pressure on students. In comparison to this year, the fees have increased from 16% to 41%. In particular, the increase in fees in language departments can be clearly seen. For example, the annual fees of the Persian department have increased from Rs 6,700 to Rs 9,475, which shows an increase of 41.41%. Similarly, Arabic department has also increased by 37.15%, due to which the fees have increased from Rs 7,200 to Rs 9,875.

Big increase in professional courses fees

The annual fees of BTech programs have increased by 19.04%, which has increased from Rs 16,150 to Rs 19,225. Similarly, the fees of MTech programs have increased by 16.48%, due to which it has now increased to Rs 21,375 per year. A significant increase has also been observed in law programs. The annual fees of courses like LLM (regular) and BA LLB (Honors) have increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,850, which shows an increase of about 19%.

14 new courses will be started in JMI

Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) has announced to launch 14 new courses in its new academic session, taking an important step towards academic expansion. These new courses are steps taken towards providing more diverse and modern education to students, which will allow them to get a comprehensive career option. In addition, the university has also made changes in the admission process and has extended the use of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score to more courses. This year, admission to 25 educational programs will be given on the basis of CUET merit, including nine graduates (UG), five postgraduate (PG), eight diplomas and three advanced diploma courses.
