More than 100 CDRs were removed
SIT said in a press release on Thursday evening that more than 100 CDRs were taken out to arrest the accused in this incident. CCTV cameras were searched. More than 50 people have been interrogated. The police cyber team also used AI (Artificial intelligence) and OSINT (Open-source intelligence) tools to catch the accused.
A total of 4 luxury cars, mixer machine and other vehicles of Suresh Chandrakar have been seized. It has also been revealed that the accused have deleted all the data from their phones also. The phone has been sent to the lab to recover its data. On the day when the conspiracy to murder Mukesh was hatched, Suresh had withdrawn a huge amount from his bank account.
To divert the location, the accused shattered Mukesh’s phone and threw it in the Tumnar river, 40-50 km from the spot.
Displeasure with the news, hence murder
According to SIT, during interrogation, the accused told that Mukesh Chandrakar was their relative and was continuously covering news against their contract work. Investigation into their contract work had also started. Angered by this, Suresh Chandrakar along with his brothers conspired to murder him.
On January 1, Ritesh Chandrakar and Mahendra Ramtek together killed Mukesh by beating him with rods in room number 11 of the enclosure.

Dinesh deleted the evidence
Dinesh Chandrakar came in the night itself after the incident and helped in destroying the evidence and absconding the accused. Suresh Chandrakar had planned to keep himself out at the time of the incident, so that he would not be suspected. On January 3, at 12 noon, Dinesh Chandrakar himself fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. When the police became suspicious, they detained him from the hospital itself and interrogated him. After 3 hours of interrogation, Dinesh revealed the whole secret of the murder.
After this, information was given about Mahendra Ramtek who was involved in this incident. Police arrested Mahendra Ramtek from Bijapur bus stand. When information was received about the dead body, the body was removed by breaking the septic tank at 5 pm on January 3. On January 6, Suresh Chandrakar was arrested from Hyderabad. All the accused were produced in the court on January 8 and sent to jail.
