New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs in the second semi -finals. With this, the team also made it to the final of the Champions Trophy for the third time. The team had earlier played the finals in 2000 and 2009. The team will now take the second time to win the title.

New Zealand chose batting on Wednesday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The team scored 362 runs losing 6 wickets. In response, South Africa could score 312 runs after losing 9 wickets. David Miller scored a century.
