PM Modi also remembered the old days spent in Kashmir

Got a chance to lay the foundation stone of Jammu Railway Division
PM Modi further said, “A few days ago, I got the opportunity to lay the foundation stone of the railway division in Jammu. Today I have got the opportunity to hand over the Sonamarg Tunnel to the country and to you. Another very old demand of Ladakh of Jammu and Kashmir today. It has been completed and believe me, there is a time for every work and the right work is going to be done at the right time. I was talking about Sonamarg Tunnel. Along with Sonamarg, the life of the people of Kargil and Leh will also become easier. Now the problem of road closure due to snowfall or landslides will reduce only after the formation of our government at the Centre. The actual construction of Sonamarg Tunnel started in 2015. I am happy that the work of this tunnel has also been completed under our government. It has always been my mantra that we will inaugurate it.
Connectivity of Sonmarg will remain intact even in winter.
He said, “With this tunnel, the connectivity of Sonmarg will also be maintained during the winter season. This is going to give new wings to tourism in this entire area including Sonmarg. In the coming days, many projects of road and rail connectivity will be started in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, a big connectivity project is also going on and there is an atmosphere of happiness regarding this, which is going to reach Kashmir. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir. I wholeheartedly congratulate you all for this tunnel and this new phase of development.”
India is moving towards new heights of progress
PM Modi said, “Today India is moving towards new heights of progress. Every citizen is engaged in making India a developed nation by 2047. This can happen only when no part of our country lags behind progress. For this, our government is working day and night with the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
More than 4 crore people across the country got permanent houses
More than 4 crore people of the entire country including Jammu and Kashmir have got permanent houses. In the coming time, 3 crore more new houses are going to be given to the poor. Today crores of people in India are getting free treatment. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have also benefited greatly from this. New IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, medical colleges, polytechnical colleges are continuously being built for the education of youth. In the last 10 years, more and more educational institutions have been built in Jammu and Kashmir. Our youth here have benefited greatly from this. Today roads, tunnels and bridges are being built from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh. Jammu and Kashmir is now becoming a hub of tunnels, elevated roads and ropeways.
World’s highest tunnel is being built in Kashmir
The world’s highest tunnel is being built here, cable bridges are being built here. The world’s highest railway line is being built here. The whole world is amazed to see the engineering of our Chenab Bridge. Just last week, the trial run of the passenger train was completed on this bridge. Today, work is going on on projects worth more than Rs. 42 thousand crores related to road connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, projects of bridge and tunnel to increase the railway connectivity of Kashmir, Shankaracharya Temple, Shivkhodi, Katra to Delhi expressway. Four of these are National Highway projects.
