Police raid on 50 terrorist hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir: 10 helpers of terrorists arrested from Kathua; Inquiry continues

On Thursday, police raided more than 50 locations in Jammu and Kashmir to arrest suspected terrorists and their supporters. Out of this, 10 people have been arrested by raiding about 17 places in Kathua district alone. They used to help the terrorists. Electronic devices have also been seized from them.

Jammu Region’s ADJ Anand Jain said that the police is registering a case against several suspects supporting the terrorists and interrogating them. This action is being taken in response to the recent terrorist attacks in the valley.

Security forces raided 17 places in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

3 terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization killed On September 14, Kathua Police, along with security forces, had killed three foreign terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization in two separate joint operations. These operations were mainly conducted in upper Kathua and its border areas.

Raid on 56 terrorist hideouts in 4 districts

Jammu and Kashmir Police has already raided 56 terrorist hideouts in 4 districts of Jammu in two days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Many suspected terrorists and ground workers of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba were arrested in these raids. These raids took place in four districts of Jammu region – Reasi, Udhampur, Rajori and Poonch. In this the police recovered many weapons, cash, electronic devices and documents.

Earlier on November 23, the police, in a joint operation with the army, had attacked and destroyed a terrorist hideout in Kunjar, Baramulla. On November 21, the police had raided 8 locations in Reasi, Doda, Udhampur, Ramban and Kishtwar districts in connection with terrorist infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir.

Terrorist incidents and encounters took place in the valley in November

  • 10th November, A young martyr in Kishtwar: On the news of 3-4 terrorists hiding in the forests of Keshawan, security forces launched a search operation. During the encounter, Second Para SF soldier Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar was martyred.
  • On November 9, Army killed a terrorist in Sopore: There was information about 2-3 terrorists hiding in Rampur forest. Since then, the joint search operation of the security forces is going on. Meanwhile, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. One terrorist has been killed in retaliatory firing.
  • 8 November- Search operation was conducted in Sagipora and Panipora: Two terrorists were killed by security forces in Sopore. The army had conducted a search operation in Sagipora and Panipora. The encounter was going on in these areas of Sopore since the night of 7 November. There was news of 2-3 terrorists hiding here. Kashmir IGP VK Birdi had said that 2 terrorists have been killed in this operation. A huge quantity of arms and ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from them.
  • November 7- Jaish terrorists killed 2 village guards: Terrorists had killed 2 village defense guards in Adhwari area of ​​Kishtwar. Police had told that the village defense guard who had gone to graze cattle in Munjala Dhar forest was kidnapped by the terrorists and shot at him.
  • November 5- Encounter in Bandipora: Police and army personnel conducted the search operation. One terrorist was killed in the encounter.
  • 3 November- Grenade blast in Sunday market of Srinagar: The blast occurred near the tourist reception centre. 12 people were injured in this. Immediately after the incident, the entire area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.
  • 3 encounters on 1-2 November: Within 36 hours, there were 3 encounters between the army and terrorists in Srinagar, Bandipora and Anantnag. Lashkar commander killed in Srinagar. Army killed 2 terrorists in Anantnag.
