Sea. The increasing pollution in rivers is proving fatal not only for humans and the environment. In fact, they are also leaving a bad impact on the fishes found inside them. Similarly, research in Europe found that the fish in the rivers there are continuously becoming thinner. A program was organized regarding this. In which Indian professor Dr. Neelima Gupta, who has been working on aquatic biology for 40 years, was also invited.
On this, he said on the basis of his research that due to pollution in the rivers, the number of parasites increases and it also has a deep impact on the health of the fish. If pollution in rivers is controlled then recovery can be done. For his similar work on rivers, he was recently awarded the Prof. Award at the Third River Congress in Sri Lanka. S. R. Basu has been honored with the International Lifetime Award.
Neelima Gupta is the Vice Chancellor of Sagar Central University.
Professor Neelima Gupta is currently the Vice Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh’s only Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University. Neelima Gupta is a world renowned scientist who has done research on pollution of river Ganga for more than four decades and has presented her valuable work to Pollution Control Board, WWF, NGT. Made research results available and successfully conducted many projects approved by Government of India UGC, INSA, DST, Ministry of Environment and Forests and State Government (Government of Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Research Council).
Worked on pollution load of Ramganga river
Regarding the research done on rivers, Neelima Gupta says that I started my work with small research, I was thinking of working on the local point of Ramganga (a tributary of Ganga), but when I gave the presentation, I was told that You have done such a good work, then work on the entire Ramganga, it was a big challenge for me, it was a range of 600 kilometers, I took that challenge, made it different by taking 6 different sites. Level from Kalagarh to Kannauj where it meets the Ganga. We worked on the entire pollution load, much later it became so valuable, Pollution Control Board, WWF, NGT took the data, we took it very far, after that we worked on the health of fishes because I I am a student of Animal Science, what is the effect of polluted water on fish? We found very interesting things in it, in which we found that parasites were increasing in it due to pollution.
Fish is a huge economic source
We all know that today fish is an economic source, it has Vitamin A, Vitamin D, fish oil, cod liver oil, all these are very valuable, the whole world uses them, but if there is pollution then the price of our fish is very low. It gets done. We found this based on our research and their quality also gets spoiled. As they become sick, suffer, their gills get damaged, their skin gets damaged, their economic value also reduces, on the basis of these, our publications also come out of very good quality, when it See how it was worked on. Various other awards were given to me, but I am very grateful for the international award I received in Sri Lanka.
