Scan QR Code and call sweeper at home, cleanliness partner ‘Wash on Wheels’ appreciated by Central Government

The innovation named Swachhta Sathi Wash on Wheels in Chhindwara district has promoted cleanliness in rural and urban areas. Cleaning service can be called by scanning the QR code.

Naidunia Representative, Chhindwara: Chhindwara has created a distinct identity in the cleanliness campaign being run across the country on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the reason why the Jal Shakti Ministry of the Central Government has not only appreciated the innovation of the district but has also sought information about it.

Actually, Collector Shilendra Singh has made an innovation called Swachhta Sathi Wash on Wheels. Under this, consumers will have to scan the QR code to call a vehicle ready to maintain cleanliness in cities as well as villages.

Rs 200 charge up to five kilometers

Under the innovation, the fee for cleaning toilets up to five kilometers from the district headquarters has been fixed at Rs 200 per unit and at a distance of more than five kilometers at Rs 250 per unit. Anyone can call this team.

Success to outsourced workers

The result is that the outsourced personnel are getting considerable success in their work. Along with employment, self-reliance has also been achieved. Now Jal Shakti Ministry has invited proposal from Chhindwara district administration. If everything goes right, this innovation can be implemented across the country.

The Collector said that this campaign is promoting cleanliness, but people are also getting employment as Swachhta Mitras.

The minister in charge of the district also appreciated

Let us tell you that recently, district in-charge minister Rakesh Singh had also appreciated this initiative. This scheme was launched to solve the problem of non-regular cleaning of institutional toilets in urban as well as rural areas.

Under this, the focus was on ensuring cleanliness and promoting the use of toilets in institutions like schools, Anganwadis, Panchayat buildings, health centers and hostels. The innovation started four months ago. This innovation was done on the initiative of Collector Shilendra Singh about four months ago.

Cluster formed

Especially in rural areas, there was no arrangement for cleanliness in schools and government offices, after which a cluster was formed by combining three gram panchayats from each of the 13 districts of the district. Trained Swachhta Saathis have been selected in each cluster.

Provide modern equipment

They were provided modern equipment like battery operated washer machines, helmets, masks, PPE kits and hygiene kits. With the help of these equipment, cleaning of institutional toilets is being done regularly. Presently about 50 Swachhata Saathi are involved in this project, who work on outsource.

earned eight lakh rupees

The innovation in the form of ‘Wash on Wheels’ received more than six thousand orders. These orders came not only through QR code but also over the phone. In return, an income of eight lakh rupees was earned from the related institutions and undertakings.

Collector had given online presentation

On January 1, Collector Shilendra Singh had given an online presentation of this project in the dialogue program organized at the national level by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Shailendra, an employee associated with this campaign, said that one to one and a half thousand rupees is earned in a day.
