Sanjay Raut said- This decision has been taken to strengthen the party at the local level.
Amid growing rift in the INDIA block, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that the party will contest the Mumbai and Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections alone.
He said, ‘We Mumbai and Nagpur Municipal Corporation will fight on our own; Whatever happens, we will have to see for ourselves. Uddhav Thackeray has given us a signal. I have just discussed this with our Nagpur City President Pramod Manmode.
Raut said, ‘This decision has been taken to strengthen the party at the local level. Workers do not get a chance in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. This is affecting the growth of the party. We should fight on our own in Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad and Nagar Panchayat and strengthen our party.
Raut had said yesterday – Congress should tell whether INDIA block exists or not. Sanjay Raut had said on Friday, ‘I agree with Omar Abdullah. If the allies of the INDIA block feel that it no longer exists, then Congress should be held responsible for this.
He said, ‘If the alliance was only for the Lok Sabha and it no longer exists, then let Congress announce it, we will choose our own paths, but let me tell you that once the INDIA block is broken, it will not be able to be formed again. So first think about what will happen next.
Raut was talking about the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Omar had said on January 9 that the alliance was only till the Lok Sabha elections, so it should be ended.
3 important things about Sanjay Raut’s statement…
1. Allies doubt whether all is well in the alliance or not We contested the Lok Sabha elections together and got good results. Congress should have held a meeting of INDIA block for further planning, but it did not happen. Due to this, there is doubt in the minds of the colleagues whether everything is fine in the INDIA block or not.
2. Like INDIA block, there is no coordination in MVA also We need to correct past mistakes. Even when the state unit of Congress was bargaining for seats in Maharashtra elections, the Congress high command did not interfere. There were many assembly seats where NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) had good candidates, but Congress did not give up claim on them. Like the INDIA alliance, there was no coordination between the MVA in Maharashtra also.
3. AAP will win, not Congress-BJP in Delhi elections I do not agree with the Congress leaders who call Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal anti-national. AAP will win the Delhi elections, not Congress or BJP. Both the parties of the alliance are contesting the Delhi elections separately. It would have been good if both were together.
