What happened in the peasant movement till now?

On 13 February last year, the farmer started his agitation on 13 demands, including the MSP of crops. Because Lok Sabha elections were to be held at that time. In such a situation, the central government initially showed readiness. Also sent senior leaders including the then Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda to Chandigarh.

Also held a meeting with farmer leaders in Sector-26. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was also present in these meetings. This meeting continued till two o’clock in the night, but when the farmers were not heard, they decided to go to Delhi.

But the Haryana government stopped the farmers on the border by putting barricades. Also argued that the farmers have modified their tractor. If the farmers come forward then the atmosphere of the state will be bad. During this time, young farmer Shubhakaran Singh died in a clash of police and farmers on Khanauri border. However, when the farmers stopped there, the contact of Punjab Haryana was lost with both those routes. Due to this, traders started suffering.

The case reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. On July 10, when the High Court ordered the Haryana government to open the barricade, the government went to the Supreme Court. After that the Supreme Court constituted a High Power Committee in this case. Then from November 26, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallawal started a fast. Also decided not to take any kind of medical facility.

But as soon as the struggle was completed 50 days, the central government officials reached the Khanouri border. He invited the farmers for the meeting. After this, Dallewal decided to continue the fast and take medical facility. Also, on 26 January, a tractor march was taken out across the country.
