Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while giving instructions to complete the work of the country’s first ‘Night Safari’ being built in the capital Lucknow by June 2026 at all costs, said that this ‘Night Safari’ spread over an area of about 900 acres will be Will be opened to the public by December 2026. The presentation of the proposed ‘Kukrail Night Safari Park’ and Zoo was given in a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s official residence. On this occasion, Adityanath gave instructions to complete the work of ‘Night Safari’ by June 2026 under any circumstances.
According to a statement issued by the state government, “This ‘Night Safari’ being built in Lucknow will be the first in the country and the fifth in the world. This will be a new destination for nature lovers of the country and the world. Spread over more than 900 acres of Kukrail area of the capital, this ‘Night Safari’ will be prepared in a phased manner. It will have many facilities including refreshment area, 7D theatre, auditorium and parking.
According to the statement, the Chief Minister said, “This (Night Safari) is an ambitious project of the state government.” Permission for its construction has been received from the Central Zoo Authority.
He said that ‘Night Safari’ will also attract foreign tourists and this project will also be linked to other tourist places in Lucknow. He said that eco-tourism sector will also be developed under the ‘Night Safari’ project. Adityanath has also given instructions to start the process of marking the animals, bringing them and keeping them in isolation. He said that instructions were also given to install solar power plants in the ‘Night Safari’ area.
The Chief Minister directed that there should be proper arrangements for isolation centers and hospitals for wild animals in the ‘Night Safari’ area. He said that arrangements will be made for thrilling activities like Superman Zipline, Archery, Zip Line, Burma Bridge, Paddle Boat, Sky Roller etc.
Yogi Adityanath said that ‘Day Safari’ will be expanded in the second phase. Asiatic lion, gharial, Bengal tiger, flying squirrel, leopard and hyena etc. will be the center of attraction in the night safari.
Apart from this, stork, Himalayan bear, South African giraffe, African lion and chimpanzee will be the main attractions in the zoo to be established in Kukrail forest area. The zoo will be developed on theme areas named ‘African Savanna’, Incredible India, ‘Engineered Wetland’.
