Mushfiqur Rahim has announced retirement from ODI cricket shortly before now. Social media has announced this by writing a long post by Mushfiqur Rahim. He wrote on Instagram that he is announcing his retirement from ODI format from today. He further said that even though our achievements have not been much globally, but one thing is certain, whenever he stepped on the field for his country, gave more than 100 percent with full dedication and honesty. He said that the last few weeks were very challenging for him. He realizes that this is destiny. Along with this, he has also mentioned some lines of the Quran. He further writes that Allah should forgive and give good faith to everyone. In the end, he thanked his family, friends and fans wholeheartedly, for which he has played cricket for the last 19 years.
Mushfiqur Rahim debuted in international cricket in 2005
Mushfiqur Rahim has a long cricket career. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2006 after a Test debut in 2005. He became a regular member of the Bangladeshi team after some time. Talking about ODIs, he has scored 7795 runs for his team by playing 274 ODIs. During this, he worked to score 9 centuries and 49 half -centuries. His average in this format has been 36.42, while he has been batting at a strike rate of 79.70. He played his last ODI against New Zealand in this year’s Champions Trophy.
Mushfiqur Rahim could score only two runs in the Champions Trophy
The journey of Bangladesh team in the Champions Trophy 2025 was very poor. His team could not win a single match. First Team India defeated him and after that New Zealand also beat him up.
