Banswara. The tribal community in Rajasthan has united for ‘quota’ in the quota. Under this, a mega rally was organized in Banswara on Sunday. Thousands of tribals from five districts of South Rajasthan gathered in this. In this, the demand for implementing reservation as per the intention of the Supreme Court was strongly raised. In this meeting organized by the Tribal Reservation Forum, a demand was made to give separate 6 and a half percent reservation to Southern Rajasthan in proportion to its population.
This meeting was organized on the issue of implementing reservation within reservation (quota within quota) and separate reservation in proportion to the population in order to bring the Scheduled Castes and Tribes into the mainstream on behalf of the Supreme Court. Apart from Banswara, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh, representatives of tribal society from Sawai Madhopur and Jhalawar also participated in this meeting. A large number of youth along with public representatives had started arriving since afternoon to attend the meeting organized in the grounds of Shri Govind Guru Government College.
Haryana has implemented this decision
Former Water Resources Minister Mahendrajit Singh Malviya said in the meeting that Southern Rajasthan has been demanding separate reservation in administrative services for many years. The Supreme Court has given the decision to give reservation in quota. This decision has created a feeling among the youth and public representatives here that someone has heard the voice of our hearts. He said that Haryana has implemented this decision.
Decision should be implemented in Southern Rajasthan
He said that through the meeting we want that the administration, Governor and Chief Minister should implement the quota reservation in the Supreme Court quota in this area. We have no objection if it is implemented for Scheduled Tribes as well as Scheduled Castes. If OBC also gets benefits then it is welcome. Tribal people have 12 percent reservation. Out of that, Southern Rajasthan got separate 6 and a half percent reservation in proportion to its population.
accused of hijacking the platform
Forum convener Kamalkant Katara said that the Tribal Reservation Forum has struggled for a long time for its demands. The forum had also urged the leaders of BJP, Congress and BAP to rise above political ideology and raise their voice for the demand of quota reservation in the society. During the meeting, allegations of hijacking the stage by BJP leaders were also made.
Tribal society should be brought into the mainstream of the nation
Many speakers said from the stage that without taking the name of Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP), none of the political parties on whom the society and the youth trusted are present here today. Now the youth will take decisions and exercise their rights. Other speakers said that the society has come forward strongly presenting its demands to the government. The decision should be implemented and the tribal society should be brought into the mainstream of the nation. Will struggle until success is achieved.
Memorandum submitted to the administration
Thousands of people from the society were present in the meeting. The youth involved in this had placards in their hands with three-point demands, ‘Implement quota reservation in quota’, ‘Give reservation in proportion to population’ and ‘Completely relax the minimum eligibility’. In the meeting, the speakers addressed only the three demands. After the meeting, a rally was taken out from the college grounds to the Collectorate.
