The new US President Donald Trump’s upheaval decisions and his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was heard on the first day of India Energy Week. During the program, panel discussion or gossip in coffee brakes, Trump’s energy policy and energy change everywhere were talked about.
Participating the first panel discussion in the program, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri said, ‘I am sure that I was acquainted with him even when Trump was not President. I have also lived in the World Trump Tower. He used to come there every year and an annual meeting was held. I have seen all this happening in front of me.
Talking about the impact of President Trump’s energy policies, Puri said that some of his aspects were very good. He said, “When the new administration says that more energy should come in the market and the prices should be low, then I am happy as a petroleum minister and Indian.” He said that if there is no talk on taking more energy from America in Modi and Trump meeting, they would be surprised.
Russia thanked India for buying oil after the war with Ukraine. Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin said without naming America, “No one country cannot decide the energy policies of all.” His message was very clear for India and America. Sorokin said, ‘We give importance to relationships. We are in a state of benefit in the oil market. Challenges will come but we will remain like this. In the conference, fossil fuel was overwhelmed and leaders from all over the world expressed their opinion.
Qatar’s Energy Minister Saad Sherida al-Kabi said with Puri that if the supply of oil and gas decreases, energy prices will increase wildly. He said, -‘People have been making oil -gas producers villains for the last 10 years, but this could not solve the problems of the environment. The practice of rejecting fossil fuel (cancell culture) is going on. It is being said that other energy should be used instead. But we need all kinds of energy sources and energy efficiency. India is an example of this. Saad favored more coal producing India and China. He said, ‘Both these countries are the biggest producers of coal. We cannot tell them that do not use the resources present in the house and replace it with fuel. The resources with you must be used. Coal cannot be eliminated. Everything will have to be stopped rejecting by running a cancel culture.
Hatham Al Gas, general secretary of OPEC, an organization of petroleum exporting countries, expressed his anger towards them. Who predicted ‘a lot of oil, too much petrol and too much emission’. Gas said, ‘All proved to be wrong. Oil is very important. OPEC is not against renewable energy. But there is no competition with fossil fuel of renewable energy. We are talking about creating a balance between the two.
